‘Wet S.P.A.C.E.’ -- Friday, August 6, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Gallery S.P.A.C.E., 9 West Henry St. Nine one-week Art Camp sessions were held at the City's Department of Cultural Affairs between July and August for ages 4-14. Students studied the fundamentals of 2 and 3-dimensional design, while exploring ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, movie-making, and dramatics. Each session featured the making of a mini-movie starring camp participants. The movie premieres will also be shown at the August 6 opening reception.
‘La Flora: A Celebration of Signature Style’ -- SCAD presents this mixed-media exploration of feminine artistic identity, Aug. 5-Oct. 3, at Red Gallery, 201 E. Broughton St. The exhibition will be featured as part of the college’s monthly gallery hops, Friday, Aug. 6, and Friday, Sept. 3, 5-7 p.m. The exhibition and gallery hops are free and open to the public. “La Flora” presents examples of feminine individual identity by SCAD faculty Katherine Sandoz and Amy Freeman; alumni Kara D’Angelo, Sarah Pulskamp McCarn, Suzanne Rader, Susan Laney and Katie Runnels; and internationally renowned artists Liliana Porter and Jenny Watson. Work ranges from ambiguous narrative to direct exploration of non-functional categories of feminine style in the media. The exhibition is comprised of paintings, photography, film and works on canvas.

'Interchangable Numbers' -- Paintings and 0rints by Kevin Orlosky through July 29 at Gallery Espresso, 234 Bull Street. Reception: Thursday, July 15, 6-8 p.m.
