'Imprint of Time' -- The Downtown Athletic Club Gallery is featuring international artist Daniel E. Smith. The show, features a collection of contemporary paintings in encaustic and oil. Through May 30th during DAC hours.

'History as Cartography: How the Artistic Avant-Garde Became International' -- SCAD presents this lecture by Dr. Timothy O. Benson, Tuesday, May 4, 6:30 p.m., in the Oglethorpe House Ballroom, 201 W. Oglethorpe Ave. Free and open to the public.

'Work and Progress' -- Retrospective by SCAD professor Michael Brown at The Opus Gallery on Chippewa Square. Exhibition benefits the Shepherd Center in Atlanta. The exhibit runs from Tuesday, May 4 through Saturday, May 29. Opening reception May 6th from 7-10 p.m. and is open to the public.

'Monitor Madness' -- An exhibition of digital work by SCAD students, staff and faculty that explores the unique format of the 16:9 aspect ratio of the plasma screen television. April 30 - June 1, at La Galerie Bleue inside Montgomery Hall, 3515 Montgomery St. Free and open to the public.

'Alexander Ink' -- A SCAD exhibit featuring printmaking by college faculty, staff and students, April 20 - May 10, at Alexander Hall Gallery Annex, 668 Indian St. Free.

'Up Close and Painterly' -- An exhibit by two Virginia Artists, Beverly Perdue and Jillian Warner at Gallery 440, 440 Bull St.

'Weaving Geographies' -- SCAD presents an exhibition of Nene Humphrey's sculptural works inspired by the Miao people of China, April 20 - June 6, at Pei Ling Chan Gallery, 322 MLKJr. Blvd. Free.

'Bridge' -- SCAD presents featuring work by 10 students in the winter quarter 2004 Chinese painting class through May 9, at Alexander Hall Gallery, 668 Indian St.

'Quiet' -- Juried group show through April 30 at Aquaspace, 11 W. York Lane.
