The Savannah Authors Workshop will release its 2015 anthology on December 9 at the Book Lady Bookstore.

Authors in the anthology are both new and recognized writers and come from Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama. Their submissions were reviewed by a distinguished panel of judges through a blind process.

"The fiction and non-fiction presented here will provide the reader with a rare opportunity to enjoy and savor literary excellence in this remarkable collection from very talented Southern writers," says Joni Saxton-Giusti of the Book Lady Bookstore.

The Savannah Authors Workshop was created by Christopher Scott and Alice Vantrease in 2011. The group encourages first-class prose writing, fiction or non-fiction, using discussion, constructive criticism, instruction, and examples. Publication in the Savannah Anthology is one of the main goals of the workshop.

This year's published authors include Sophia Alexander, author of Lowcountry historical series The Silk Trilogy; Christopher Scott, a British writer of a memoir and two novels and cofounder of the workshop; Susan B. Johnson, a writer for over thirty years and recent member of Continental Who's Who in the Library of Congress; Vicki Weeks, host and producer of the Writer's Den Radio Show; and Beverly Willett, a former entertainment lawyer who now writes and edits non-fiction.

At the December 9 event, the authors included in the Savannah Anthology will read their work and sign copies of the anthology. The event starts at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase.
