Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is presenting a new cinematic showcase of designs by fashion students and alumni this week.
Fashion in Frame is set to premiere at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The full-length feature film highlights user-generated content created by known influencers and models, along with portraits by acclaimed photographers and SCAD graduate Alexandra Arnold. Both emerging and established fashion icons − including Kate Bosworth, Blake Gray, Lauren Chan, Emanuela de Paula, Nikita M’Bouroukounda and Julia Wheatley − appear in the film.
According to a SCAD spokesperson, even before the world pivoted to digital during the COVID-19 pandemic, the college was working to reimagine its programs with new concepts and immersive experiences. Fashion in Frame is a chic peek into the current fashion experience and a look into the industry’s future.
Ahead of the premiere, a panel discussion will explore the future of fashion and new platforms that have emerged amid the digital wave in 2020. Following the screening, SCAD will host workshops on fashion branding and photography, along with an information session for prospective students.
