Bonaventure Historical Society is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to preserving the history and beauty of Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA.
Bonaventure Cemetery is a National Landmark cemetery and one of the most popular places to visit in Savannah. It is a serene and sublime experience to walk around this Victorian Era cemetery filled with beautiful statues, oak trees with Spanish moss, and to learn about the history of those who built our fair city. The cemetery is open from 8 am to 5 pm daily and is free to enter.
Our knowledgeable volunteer guides offer tours on the Second Sunday of every month and we also offer a self-guided tour app that you can download anytime. Our volunteers are available on the weekends to provide assistance and information in the Visitor’s Center.
