AMERICAN IDOL winner Caleb Johnson performs a special concert at The Stage on Bay in association with the Savannah Jaycees.
The Asheville native took home the top prize on the hit show in its thirteenth season. Singing classics like “Dream On” by Aerosmith, “Beast of Burden” by the Rolling Stones, “You Give Love a Bad Name” by Bon Jovi, Johnson solidified his place as a great rock vocalist.
After wrapping up American Idol, Johnson recorded his first record, collaborating with Howard Benson, Aloe Blacc, Brian Howes, Blair Daly, and James Michael. The album was recorded in three weeks and released on August 12, 2014; it was the quickest an American Idol winner has released a debut album. He is currently working on new music.
$5 of every ticket will go toward a Savannah Jaycees designated holiday charity. Attendees are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy donation in exchange for a $10 future show credit from The Stage on Bay.
Friday, December 1, doors at 7 p.m., show at 8 p.m., $20, all-ages
