Futurebirds, Roadkill Ghost Choir, Dirty Bourbon River Show and the Cedric Burnside Project—all familiar and welcome on Savannah stages—are among the touring bands set to perform Sept. 20 at the second Savannah Stopover-sponsored Revival Fest.
MusicFile Productions bills the festival as “A Modern Low-Country Hoedown.”
The all-ages event (noon-11 p.m.) will take place on the grounds of the Georgia Railroad Museum.
Futurebirds, along with Water Liars, Packway Handle Band and Family & Friends, come from Athens, while the Burnside band is Mississippi-based. Roadkill Ghost Choir’s home is in Florida.
Virginia’s David Wax Museum plays an inspired form of Americana blended with traditional Mexican folk music. With its three-man horn section, Dirty Bourbon is one of the most unique guitar bands to come out of the contemporary New Orleans scene.
Also on the bill are the Blank Range and Los Colognes (from Nashville), Meagan Jean & the KRF (from Charleston) and the Savannah bands Velvet Caravan, Waits & Co. and Sweet Thunder Strolling Band.
Revival Fest, which will also feature craft beers and Southern cuisine, will be followed by a late night jam session at The Jinx. Advance purchase tickets are $35 and are on sale at ticketfly.com.
