Savannah is one of the few lucky stops on Mitski’s Solo Tour of Beautiful Places.
One of the most luminous voices in music today, the Brooklyn-based indie artist broke out in 2016 with her fourth album, Puberty 2. A textural feast of a record blending confessional songwriting with unusual and inventive guitar work, the record was named among the year’s best by Rolling Stone, Time, Stereogum, Paste, Pitchfork, and beyond.
Her fifth record arrives on August 17 via Dead Oceans. Be The Cowboy is a turn for the songwriter, basking in narrative and complexly created characters instead of the raw, personal lyricism that has earned her widespread critical acclaim. The single “Geyser” builds like its name, exploding in emotion and sound swells.
For her Solo Tour of Beautiful Places, Mitski selected cities and towns across America usually too small to hold the in-demand musician. She’ll perform alone, with an opening solo set from Charleston’s She Returns From War and Brooklyn’s Katie Von Schleicher.
The show is sold out online, but a limited number of tickets will be available at the venue the day of the show.
