Upon first listen, Mock Identity immediately strikes the listener as a devoted flyer of the post-punk flag. The D.C. band’s sound is rooted in all the great post-punk of the late 70s and early 80s, but they’re also quite similar to the brilliant Savages in their delivery and melodic approach. Joining them at the Wormhole is the equally incredible Permanent Makeup, a more experimental post-punk group from Florida, as well as some local favorites.
