Bottles & Cans

Energetic electric blues group that’s been named a favorite act in our past Reader’s Polls. Thurs., Savannah Blues.

The Doug Carn Quintet

Smokin’ jazz outfit centered around the adventurous keyboardist Carn, who was a shining light of the 1970s Black Jazz movement, and despite relocating to Florida, still enjoys a strong following in Savannah, where he resided for many years. Great stuff. Sun., 7 pm, Creole Red.

Joey Manning

Excellent pianist, guitarist and singer who’s been a bar and restaurant fixture around town for years (that kinda makes him sound like a deli case, doesn’t it?), and is considered by many to be the best in town at what he does (accurate renditions of popular soft rock tunes and standards). Roy & The Circuit Breakers

Beach, shag, rock and pop tunes. Thurs. - Sun., Doc’s Bar (Tybee).

The Bobby Ryder Quartet

Depending on who you ask, this Hilton Head’s bandleader is either a hip and swinging vocalist in the grand tradition of Sinatra and Tormé, or a schmaltzy lounge lizard who crosses the line into unintentional self-parody. However, his ton of experience playing all sorts of venues far and wide for many years makes a case for legitimate – if sometimes over-the-top – coolness. Thurs., - Sat., The Jazz Corner (Hilton Head).

Souled Out

Fri., 9 pm, The Oyster Bar (Wilmington Island).
