Regarding your recent column “Cherish the Ladies:”

Being a dyed–in–the–wool liberal, it is so refreshing to read an article in this state that actually has compassion & a sense of reason re their fellow human beings. Aside from the appalling stupidity exhibited by the right wing in this country, it is astounding to me that the great women’s movement in this country has not blasted these self–serving (expletive) into oblivion.

One wonders if their attitude would remain consistent were the victims their wives, children or grandchildren.

Thanks for a sense of relief that there are people of reason south of the Mason-Dixon line. Keep up the good work.
