Police seek the public’s help in locating “two males who appeared to randomly attack pedestrians in two incidents Sunday" March 8.

In the first incident, two Jersey City, NJ, men were walking at East Congress and Habersham streets about 7:13 p.m. when the car (possibly a Cadillac DeVille) stopped beside them; “the passenger exited and punched a 35-year-old victim several times in the face.” Witnesses confirmed the report.

At 8 p.m., a 21-year-old woman attending college in Savannah reported “she was walking with a male when the car stopped near them and she was punched and knocked down by the passenger,” who is described as a black male, about 6 ft. with a slender to medium body style, short hair and light complexion.

At least two other similar incidents have happened since then.

On the evening of Monday, March 9, police report an attempted armed robbery at 11 West Liberty Street at 10:16 p.m. The report indicates the victim walked to his car and got in. A black male tapped on his window with a gun. The victim pulled out a gun and the suspect fled the scene. The suspect is described as having short dreads, khaki pants and a camouflage print jacket.

On Tuesday  March 10 at 3:19 p.m., police say a victim was walking north on Bull Street near Jones Street when he was reportedly punched from behind and his cell phone was snatched.

The victim said the suspect ran; he chased the suspect to the area of Bull Street near Gordon Street, at which point the suspect entered a vehicle and sped off.

The suspect was described as a black male, slender build, between the age of 20-30 years old. The suspect was observed leaving the scene in a black, 4-door, SUV.
