Wednesday afternoon, "the collaborative work of a multiagency taskforce led to the arrest of murder suspect, Jo’Andre Robbins,18, for the shooting death of Wayne Edwards, 17" in an August 2014 murder, police say.
Members of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Taskforce located Robbins at a residence on the 5600 block of Betty Drive. The taskforce is made up of Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Tactical Investigation Unit, Central Precinct’s Crime Suppression Unit, K-9, homicide detectives and the US Marshal Service.
"The shooting happened Aug. 16 outside of a residence on the 1200 block of Elliott Street, in Carver Heights. Six days later, Robbins was charged with Edwards’ murder," police say.
Dec. 23 of last year, Michael Thompson, of Savannah was arrested in Augusta and charged with party to the crime of murder in connection to this case.
