Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating the shooting death of a two-year-old child inside an apartment late Tuesday night.
The child was transported from the Hampstead Oaks Apartments on the 200 block of Hampstead Avenue to Memorial University Medical Center.
Central Precinct Patrol officers responding to a shots fired call were advised that the child had been injured at 11:02 p.m.. The apartment appeared to have been targeted with shots fired from outside the unit.
