One person is in custody following a large seizure of crack cocaine.
Earlier this year, members of the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team (CNT) received information 33-yer-old Kendall Owens of Savannah was selling powder and crack cocaine. CNT opened an investigation into Owens and successfully purchased cocaine from him during the investigation, a spokesperson says.
Following the cocaine purchase from Owens, CNT obtained arrest warrants for Owens to include Sale of a Controlled Substance. Owens was taken into custody by CNT without incident. Also on yesterday, CNT conducted a search of Owens’ residence located in the 300 block of Lawton Avenue.
"There, agents seized a trafficking amount of crack cocaine, items commonly utilized in the distribution of controlled substances and more than $900 in U.S. currency. A total of two vehicles were also seized," CNT says.
Owens was arrested on multiple felony drug related charges to include Sale of a Controlled Substance and Trafficking Cocaine. Owens is being held at the Chatham County Detention Center.
The arrest marks Owens’ fourth drug booking in Chatham County and his second arrest by CNT. At the time of Owens arrest, Owens’ was on Felony Probation for a previous drug conviction in Chatham County.
