In an eerie echo of this past Monday — a day which also saw two homicides in Savannah — Savannah Police are investigating two separate homicides Wednesday night.

Savannah Police’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting that resulted in one man dying and two others being injured.

"About 9:15 p.m. officers responded E. Bolton Street and Waters Avenue for a shooting. Robert Lee, 26, was discovered deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Kavon Freeman, 25, was transported to Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A third man, 26-year-old Bernard Carter, was transported to Memorial Hospital by a private vehicle," police report.

Officers also located a crime scene at E. 38th and Layola streets that detectives believe to be connected to the incident on E. Bolton Street.

On the Southside, Savannah Police have charged a Savannah man with murder after responding to a fatal cutting.

"About 10:35 p.m. officers were called to an apartment on Talina Lane for a suicidal person. When officers arrived, they discovered 37-year-old Raphael Milligan, who told officers he had just killed his roommate," police report.

"Inside the apartment, officers discovered Gregory Davis, 54, deceased from an apparent cutting. Milligan was arrested on a charge of murder."
