On New Year's Day, Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police arrested a Savannah man after a domestic incident involving a gun discharge and kidnapping.

Just after 5 p.m., Metro responded to a residence on the 1300 block of East 31st Street.

Officers learned that Troyozzie Adside, 24, "fired a gun inside the house he shared with his 25-year-old girlfriend, before forcing her into her 1998 Jeep Cherokee and driving away," police says.

"The victim managed to safely escape the vehicle once Adside passed out behind the steering wheel. Metro recovered the Jeep with Adside still passed out inside. It was parked at a gas station on the 3700 block of Ogeechee Road. A firearm was recovered, and Adside was taken into custody. The victim was located nearby."

Adside is charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, terroristic threats, and reckless conduct.
