Detectives are investigating a shooting that injured Lavonte Jones, 25, Aug. 5 at approximately 11:45 a.m.

Metro responded to the 1900 block of West Lake Avenue to find Jones suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. "Reportedly, Jones and an unknown suspect had a brief alteration before shots were fired. Jones was transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries," police say.

Investigators believe the victim and suspect are known to each other. Police report that Jones refused to cooperate with investigators.
