Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m., April 28, near a residence in the 1300 block of New Castle Street.
Officers responded to the report of a shooting in the area and found Hanna Cornell Brown, 36, suffering a gunshot wound inside a vehicle. The victim was transported to Memorial University Medical Center, where she later passed away from her injuries.
"Following the incident, family members inside the residence heard a vehicle fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed," police say.
