Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Island’s Precinct investigators are attempting to identify a man who is suspected in several commercial burglaries near the Sandfly area.

In the past month, one man is suspected of burglarizing four churches located on the 6800 and 7200 blocks of Skidaway Road, 2300 block of Sunset Boulevard and the 5100 block of Laroche Avenue.

"These burglaries occurred between April 1 and April 26," police say. "The same man is also suspected in burglarizing a car wash on the 2000 block of Victory Drive around midnight on April 16."

Cohen’s Retreat, located on the 5700 block of Skidaway Road, also reported a burglary with a similar suspect on April 19.

Several items were taken from the business to include laptops, jewelry, cash and sound equipment.

The suspect, described as a slender, middle-aged white male, wore a light colored button down shirt and dark pants during the April 19 car wash incident. He appears to have light colored hair. He is seen on surveillance footage crawling through a side window to enter the business. Once inside, he rummages through items behind the cash register area, takes some cash and then eventually exits the building.

These incidents currently remain under investigation.
