Savannah Waterfront Association hires new executive director

The nonprofit Savannah Waterfront Association has hired Victoria Freeman Smith as executive director.

“We are so excited to have Victoria join us as our new executive director and look forward to growth and new ventures under her leadership,” said Emily Dickinson, who serves as the board president of Savannah Waterfront Association.

“She will be a real asset to Savannah’s tourism community and serve as a valuable resource for local business owners.”

Smith previously served the last 13 years as managing director for American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) in Washington, D.C. Smith has served as a volunteer with the national capital area’s March of Dimes as a board member, volunteer and significant fundraiser for 13 years.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics with an emphasis in finance from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Smith, originally from Olney, Md., currently lives on Tybee Island.
