Three juveniles have been arrested after officers followed a stolen Jeep through a neighborhood Tuesday.
Five occupants of the vehicle were detained after foot chases by multiple officers and charges were filed against three of them, including probation violation and three counts of obstruction against a 14-year-old, possession of a firearm and obstruction charges against a 15-year-old, and theft by receiving (auto) filed against a 16-year-old.
The officers were conducting a rolling surveillance of the white, 2015 Jeep Cherokee when the occupants noticed officers and all five ran on foot near Live Oak and East Park Avenue. Another 16-year-old and a 26-year-old male were detained but not charged.
The Jeep had been reported stolen earlier Tuesday when the owner discovered it missing near his residence on the first block of East 38th Street. He had left a spare set of keys in the vehicle and possibly had left a door unlocked.
