Savannah Police’s Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a July 23 shooting on West 41st Street near Cuyler-Brownsville that resulted in the death of a 59-year-old Savannah woman.
"Officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of W. 41st Street in reference to a ShotSpotter alert and discovered Patricia Ann Sabb with a life-threatening gunshot wound. She was transported to Memorial Hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries. The incident is being investigated as a homicide. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation," police report.
In a separate incident, Savannah Police detectives are also investigating a July 23 shooting on Walz Drive on the eastside that resulted in the death of 63-year-old Savannah man.
"Officers responded to a residence in the 2200 block of Walz Drive about 6:15 p.m. and discovered Eric Cooley dead from apparent gunshot wounds. The case is being investigated as a homicide. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation," police say.
The shootings bring the number of homicides in Savannah-Chatham County for 2018 to 13, 12 of them in the jurisdiction of the Savannah Police Department.
