Metro Traffic officers are investigating the collision of a minivan and a motor scooter that seriously injured two women Friday night.
Latroya Williams, 21, driver of the scooter, and Altovise Christina Thomas, 22, were transported to Memorial University Medical Center with injuries considered non-life threatening.
"They were on the scooter riding northbound atop a railroad overpass on Ogeechee Road at 10:27 p.m. when they were struck from behind by a Chrysler Town & Country minivan that changed lanes behind them," police say. "The van was driven by a 36-year-old Hinesville man."
Ogeechee Road was closed to traffic from Chatham Parkway to Gamble Road for several hours as the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT), forensics and West Chatham Precinct Patrol officers of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department investigated the crash.
