Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police's Violent Crimes detectives are investigating the shooting of Marquice Allen, 34, in the 1100 block of West 49th Street on June 30.

"At about 8:15 a.m., officers responded to the area and found Allen suffering from life-threatening injuries. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene," police report.

Investigators have determined that this shooting was domestic in nature. At this time, it appears the shooting was an act of self-defense," police say.
