There will be an unveiling ceremony Thursday at 2 p.m. for a new "hands-on, interactive" xylophone being installed in Forsyth Park on the west side of the bandshell.

Savannah Mayor Pro-tem Van R. Johnson, City Manager Stephanie Cutter, Healthy Savannah Coalition members, Savannah Arts Academy staff and students will join with City staff for the event.

The unveiling celebration will include "pre-school students who regularly use the park and a musical demonstration of the new xylophone by students from the Savannah Arts Academy."

Funding for the xylophone was provided through a Cities of Service Grant.
