At approximately 4:45 P.M. Monday, Savannah Chatham County Public School System Campus Police Dispatch was notified "that a 17-year-old Windsor Forest High School student had run away from the school," police say.

Lonshone Jones was found safe later on that day. 

According to police, "a teacher was escorting him into the building when he broke away and ran."
