The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Special Victims Unit arrested a woman today for falsely reporting a rape over the weekend.
"Jennifer Woodard, 18, initially told officers she was sexually assaulted in the first block of Deerwood Road on November 26 by a black male subject, driving a black Mustang. She claimed he threatened her with a gun and then sexually assaulted her," police report.
"Investigators determined that Woodward falsified the report. No sexual assault occurred and the subject description she gave was also falsified," police say.
Woodward was arrested and charged with false report of a crime.
