Woman drives off burglars with firearm

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at about 10:30 p.m., April 25, in the 900 block of East 35th Street.

"Two men entered the home and the noise alerted the homeowner, who thought it was her husband coming home," police say. "When she went to investigate, one of the two suspects reportedly struck the woman in the face. The victim then grabbed a firearm and fired a shot toward the two men as they fled the home."

Police say the first suspect is  as a black male, 5-feet, 11-inches with a slender build and medium brown complexion. He was wearing a black zip-up hoodie, blue jeans and black tennis shoes. The second suspect was approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall and wearing a red baseball hat.
